Jakarta, the vibrant capital of Indonesia, is a melting pot of cultures, traditions, and history. Although many travellers view Jakarta as just a gateway to the country’s tropical islands, it deserves exploration on its own. In just two days, you can dive into the city’s rich history, savour its delicious cuisine, and discover its vibrant art scene. Whether you’re on a layover or planning a short visit, this summary highlights the must-see experiences in Jakarta. It will help you make the most of your time in the city!

Most international visitors arrive at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK), which is located around 30-40 minutes from central Jakarta, depending on traffic. There are frequent international and domestic flights to Jakarta from all major cities. To find the best prices and availability, we recommend checking flight comparison sites like Skyscanner for great deals. We flew from Kuala Lumpur to Jakarta and sorted out our visas on arrival at the airport.
