“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.”

Welcome to J’s Travel Diaries

I’m Judit, a travel enthusiast who left the 9–5 routine to follow my passion for exploring the world. Together with my partner, Norman — a talented videographer — we’re capturing moments that reflect not just places, but the culture, people, cuisine, and hidden gems that often go unseen.

J’s Travel Diaries grew from my love of writing, travel, and curating meaningful journeys. My goal is to make travel planning easier for you by sharing clear, practical guides while also weaving in personal stories, tips, and reflections that bring destinations to life.

Here, you’ll find inspiration and resources for smart, budget & mid-budget travel. From logistics and essentials to honest insights and unique experiences. Whether you’re planning a trip or simply dreaming of one, I hope to help you travel smarter, explore deeper, and discover more along the way.

Let’s make your travel dreams a reality – join us on this journey!

Explore Indonesia

Indonesia is a place that keeps pulling me back. With 17,000 islands, this archipelago is packed with adventure, stunning nature, and epic beaches. From exploring lush jungles and hiking active volcanoes to relaxing on pristine beaches, this Southeast Asian gem truly has it all.

Love wildlife? Head to Sumatra to see wild orangutans. Need some downtime? Try a Balinese massage with a flower bath in Ubud, or relax on some of the world’s most stunning beaches on the Gili Islands.

Looking for something unforgettable? Watch the sunrise over Mount Bromo, explore the world’s largest volcanic lake, Lake Toba, or see the glowing blue flames at Kawah Ijen.

I’ve been lucky to visit three times, once solo, once on a shorter trip and recently on a three-month island-hopping trip with my partner. And I still feel like I’ve only scratched the surface.

So, are you ready to explore Indonesia? Check out our travel guides, itineraries and in-depth blog posts for insider tips, must-visit spots, and everything you need to plan an unforgettable adventure!

When you think of Sumatra, what do you envisage? I see lush jungles, untouched nature, volcanos, rain forests, lakes and rivers, symbols of local culture, remote areas and most importantly extraordinary wildlife. There is one key figure of the Gunung Leuser National Park who draws so many tourists to the area, and that is the endangered Sumatran orangutan. Once you spend enough time admiring these beautiful creatures, many other adventures await because Sumatra has it all. Are you ready for an unforgettable journey?
